Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located for in-person training?

My private gym is located in Madison, AL, conveniently near County Line Rd. I proudly serve the surrounding communities of Athens and Huntsville. It is a fully-equipped gym where we can work one-on-one.

I already have a gym membership. Can we train there?

Every gym has their own training policy; most won't allow outside trainers to use their facility. However, I can still coach you online.

How does online fitness coaching work?

Virtual coaching offers the ultimate flexibility without sacrificing accountability. You’ll receive custom training programs, nutrition guidance, and daily lifestyle adjustments. I can even coach your form and intensity in weight training via video submissions. We stay connected through regular check-ins, ensuring you have quality guidance no matter where you are in the world.

Should I train in-person or online?

If you are new to strength training or not as comfortable navigating a gym, I would highly suggest starting with some in-person training to ensure we build a strong foundation for you to eventually feel more comfortable training on your own. Beyond that, we determine your needs through the free consultation. Once you've filled out the inquiry, I'll schedule a Zoom call and together we can go over your needs, wants, and level of experience. It's also not uncommon for clients to switch services as well depending on where they are in their goal achievement.

What is hybrid coaching?

Hybrid coaching is basically a client will train with me at my gym a selected number of sessions per month, but depending on the package they buy, they will also be given a training program to do at the gym or home as well. That way you can still workout 3-4 days per week and see results faster.

Wait! Did I see you training at a local gym?

Yes! You may have. I have a very limited select clients from when I first started at a local gym many years ago and they remain on my schedule. However, that is completely separate from Coached by Connie and those clients do not get any outside help at all. If you want the full coaching experience, then you'll need to select one of my services.

What is the difference between a personal trainer and a fitness/nutrition coach?

Personal Trainers typically focus on gym time only. My approach is comprehensive; I don’t just show you how to lift, I help you master your nutrition, manage your stress, optimize your sleep, and navigate real-world obstacles like restaurant menus and habit changes.

Does nutrition coaching come with the monthly training sessions?

Yes! I feel it's best to combine nutrition and lifestyle change with any training program for the most optimal coaching experience and education.

I’ve tried every diet and gym program out there. Why is this different?

Most programs focus on the 'what' but ignore the 'why.' Because I’ve lived through my own health struggles, I know that surface-level fixes don't last. We dive deep into habit changes, gut and hormone support, and nutrition that actually fits your life.

What does 'Gut and Hormone Support' mean?

Fitness is more than just calories. If your hormones are unbalanced or your gut health is compromised, your results can stall. I look at the big picture of your internal health to ensure your training and nutrition are working with your biology, not against it.

What is 'Hormone Replacement Therapy'?

Hormone Replacement Therapy is a medical treatment designed to restore hormone levels (like estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone) to a healthy range when the body isn't producing enough on its own. While I am not a medical doctor and do not prescribe HRT, I can help inform you about your options and help prepare for a consultation with your physician.
